Not every student will attend college in the traditional way, but every student should have the knowledge, access and opportunities to make an educated choice about their future

Courtney Robinson is an education professional currently serving as the College Access Liaison for Spring Branch Independent School District. Her varied experiences include college and career advising, creating curricula, staff development and post secondary event planning. She excels in collaborating with diverse teams, using technology to increase efficiency, project management and building relationships with students to ensure school-wide success.

Robinson's first leadership role was as the College and Career Readiness Fellow for Citizen Schools: Texas. In this role, she prepared cohorts of 8th, 9th and 10th grade students for life during and beyond high school. As she worked with these students, she realized they had limited knowledge and resources for navigating their future plans. She saw a need for students to not only have a strong  academic foundation but assistance as they began to make crucial decisions about their futures.

Following her fellowship, she began her teaching career. She has six years of elementary and middle school teaching experience with a focus in math. As a teacher, she also held roles as technology lead, grade level chair, data and assessment lead and campus interventionist. During her last two years of teaching, she attended Our Lady of the Lake University and completed her Masters of Education in School Counseling. Completing the school counseling program emphasized her desire to advise students as they map out their career pathways.

Robinson's passion is for helping students make knowledgeable choices about their future. She believes it is extremely important to show students the many different paths they can take to become their version of success. As a first generation college student who had to navigate her own path, she is able to relate to students making those same difficult choices.

In her professional career, she has found that time is a precious commodity for her and her students. By focusing on creating efficient systems for her role and creating easily accessible resources for students, she is able to maximize her time meeting with students and providing the assistance they need. She also uses these skills to teach other staff members how to create similar systems for their role.

Robinson believes that education provides choices for the future and she want to ensure that all students receive the opportunity to make those choices
